The Dutch national hockey team has won the 2014 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Minsk, Belarus! It’s their first gold medal at this event since 1949 and the first time they’ve medaled since winning bronze at the tournament in 2011. In addition to their championship win, the Netherlands also finished as runners-up in Group A during last year’s tournament, ending up in fourth place overall after being defeated by Canada 2–1 in the quarterfinals.

The Indian hockey team beat South Korea in the 10th Champions Trophy on 16 June 2018, thus entering the finals of the competition. The match was held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, and India emerged victorious with 3-1 scoreline against South Korea. Rupinder Pal Singh was declared as the man of the match for his performance in this particular match. He scored two goals out of three and also registered one assist as well during the match against South Korea.

With the Women’s World Cup of Hockey 2016 tournament set to begin, England will be taking on the challenge of defending their 2015 trophy. In 2015, England won the bronze medal, beating Japan in the third-place game with 5-3. The 2016 event will showcase 10 countries from around the world as they compete for the first ever gold medal in this event’s history.
